1. About the book

Blindspot is a sweeping literary novel set against a backdrop of conflict. At once intimate and expansive, it follows Katya, a woman navigating love, survival, exile, and motherhood. Blindspot explores her relationship with Troy, an American whose choices deeply shape their shared path. At its heart, Blindspot is a story about love under pressure, emotional and cultural blind spots, and the way two lives become intertwined and tested by circumstance. It captures how intimacy can both fracture and endure in times of uncertainty. This novel offers readers a deeply felt experience of love and resilience, brought to life through cinematic storytelling.

Sergki Sviatko

"The novel is deeply emotional and touches on more than just the tragedy of love, war, and trust. Ukraine is a feminine country by archetype, and the protagonist's character is a search for one's place in the future in the new world of Western culture. The skills and stereotypes so necessary in Ukraine for family survival and security can be counterproductive here. The key is to identify the problem, and the novel's heroine succeeded. Returning to Ukraine, as I understand it, isn't a surrender, but a rethinking, a gathering of strength for a future where Ukraine is part of Europe not only mentally but also physically—present through their shared child and the resolution of shared problems. The image of the clash between fire and order is very accurate, and we all know that man has tamed fire."
